ahh, try to get next to someone who us running on one too. bingo, you are in a race...try to outlast him\her. It doesn't matter who has their speed set faster, this is an exercise in mental visualization. As you near your end of time, imagine you are really bringing it home to the finish line...so many people are watching, the crowd is cheering, see that sign someone is holding up with your name on it?? the more detail you can imagine, the better your mental exercise will be and you will improve dramatically when you practice a positive mindset, instead oh, this is terribly hard, this hurts, this is boring... OR! See that hot boy across the gym, run run run to him, he is waiting, calling your name....

You have to figure what works for you, make it fun...

get an ipod and download some upbeat music or put your treadmill in front of the tv and watch a fav. show to make the time pass quickly.

Find a race in your town/city and make it a point to get good enough to run in it. Then you can think about how good it is going to feel to cross the finish line. You can also work on your times so that you can get a medal!

Put it infront of the tv and run instead of sitting on the couch while you watch your favorite shows.

work your stress out while you run. Think about what makes you stressed, and run a little harder...better for you in the long run, plus you can solve a lot of things too!
