I encountered a Southern Copperhead snake in my yard about 11:30 am would you try to kill it or just let it go on it's way to maybe come back again?

As soon as i saw this question my dad called me outside and he found a snake climbing a tree. It was a big one too. I hate snakes.

I used to take care of a cemetary for work in high school. While weedeating one day i saw the biggest copperhead i had ever laid eyes on.With weapon in hand i proceeded to mow it down.Took awhile but killed it.I dont mind non-poisonous snakes but if i see a copperhead or whatever its dead if i have a chance of killing it and not getting bitten.

If you are in a neighborhood with kids, you can't just let it go on it's way. If you are in a woodland area, then that is just what you are going to get. To ensure it won't get in your house, you will have to try to kill it. I would call the animal control, so you do not have to be at risk. They know how to do this, and you could get bit. What did you do anyway....

If it's poisonous I would have to kill it for the protection of my family, kids and other kids in the neighborhood.....that is if I don't pass out first.

Hell no. I would call the fire department and tell them to take care of it. I dont feel like getting killed.

I would call Animal Control. They are experts in capturing dangerous animals. I would never attempt it myself.

Let it go. It fears humans more than we fear them.
