It all depends on where you live.
Under NO circumstances should you go to an empty field that is nearby or part of a: school, park (public or private), building or structure - abandoned or not, library, public office, police station, prison, court house, etc.
Firing a gun of any kind in those locations is currently illegal under th e DHS laws. You can go to federal prison for those.
So scrounge around for some forest area, or use your back yard. To prevent the BBs from spreading too far from your target, try to find a used mattress and set it up behind your targets. That will help.
And as one other person warned, be careful about ricochets. Just because BBs are a low powered weapon does not mean that accidents cannot happen and that it cannot hurt you. Both can happen.

In the state of Fl. you can not shoot it in the city limits. Please don't shoot it until you have an adult there. Even though it is only a BB gun it is very dangerous. The BB can travel pretty far. It could shoot someones eye out. You could break a window. Kill someones pet. Anyway you get the picture? Call your local police and ask, tell them what you have asked us and they will let you know. That is what they are there for. Be very careful! Good luck and may God be with you.

You can make a good shooting range in many ways- the key point is just some way to help ensure that misses don't go flying all over the place. Some heavy sheets hung behind the targets, a dirt pile, some bales of hay, etc. will all absorb the extra energy.
You can also get targets that capture your pellets, find cool range ideas on-line, etc.
It is NOT a good idea to go shooting on other land- parks, etc., without the permission of the owners.

You need to have your dad check your local laws before you do anything. if you show up at some park with a BB gun and someone thinks it is real they will call the police. When they get there you may end up getting shot. So have your dad check into it for you first. Good luck.

Assault with intent to maim is one. The other is brandishing. you can charged with brandishing a weapon if a toy water pistol looks real. If the boy is in his yard and shoots, he is presenting a probability of danger to his neighbors. Unless he can demonstrate a clear level of competency, he can be arrested. In VA, he cannot even attempt to shoot at animals because a 22 cal weapon is the minimum cal alowed. The next time you cousin tries to shoot you, tell his parents. If his parents do nothing, they are obviously not fit. Tell the authorities because no one else is going to protect you. I have my daughters recite the first six rules of safety. 1. treat every weapon as if it is loaded. 2. Do not point the weapon at anyone unlless you are willing to have them die. 3. identify your target. 4. Id what is behind your target. 5. Do not put your finger on the trigger untill you are ready to fire. 6.. Never trust your safety. rule no. 7. If someone points a weapon at you, remember rules 1 and 2 and shoot in self defense

You can shoot it. You can buy it.
But best bet would be to get your hunter safety training certificate first. You are bound by the same rules. It does not qualify as a FIRE arm.

If its not on your property they can file criminal mischief charges. Misdamenor charge but you would probalay have to be a dick to the police for them to charge you as long as you didnt cause damage. Be careful when the police approach you because that looks very real to them.

you can not take it on school property, and you will have to have your parents with you if you take it off of your property.
So if your dad goes with you, you can go to a field or someplace deserted. But you can not take it by yourself.
