if i start a website with a new idea like orkut,google search..etc. how can i be profitable for my service??

The traffic is important to advertisers, and you can profit from that if you have a popular site. Check out clixgalore and bravenet.
Save yourself some cash and get windows XP Pro and use IIS to host the site on your computer. Don't be taken in by the sites that will bring you traffic. Your best bet is Google ad words.
Your site must provide something to people and you will work for the profit, your site must be fresh everyday to encourage return visits.

Depends. Do you have a business that you're wanting to grow? Or is it for personal reasons? Either way, having a website increases the potential for LOTS of people to see what you have to share (just like the Yahoo Answers stuff).
Many ways to "start" a website - again, it depends on the KIND of website you want, and for what purpose(s). I create websites for small businesses and organizations, and I also help them with internet marketing. Use the internet to learn as much about this as possible (there is MUCH out there!)...
How can you be profitable: You don't need to pay for pay per click services like Google adwords. Just learn how to get website traffic "naturally", using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) on your website! I also do this, and I KNOW it works!
