Was reading about Elaine Esposito, whose coma lasted 37 years, and I was wondering if she remained in a 6-year-old's body, or if her body developed while she was in the coma.

The body grows but the mental aspects of the person do not have social activity for learning and development. Therefore, the person is a 'child' in an 'adult' body.

You think when you are in a coma and you grow.
I do not know what you would be thinking at that young of an age since I know when I was that young I never thought I would be driving or working like I am now.
I was in a coma for 13 days. I kept reliving the day the accident occured that actually put me in the coma. Eventually I thought I was dead.
Brain will have developed, but your brain finishes growing when you are 25. If you came out of the coma then I think it would be an immense amount of therapy. I could not stand up, I wet my bed & people told me I didn't remember what I did 1 hour ago.
Lucky I did not have this too late in life or else I could not have recovered like I did. Bachelor's degree, exercise regularly, have a good job.

the body will physically grow givin the correct nutriants. What is more likely to happen is that since while in a coma the brain is not exercised, meaning you are not learning the things we all do in school and daily living, is that you will have a 6 year old in an adults body, the body grows the mind does not, education and living wise.

She would still grow, but her body wouldn't be as strong or as fully developed as it can be because of the inactivity that her body's been in for 20 years.

The Sleeping Beauty slept for 100 years and it didn't seem to make any difference to her.

I've often wondered about that.
She wakes up after 100 years - all her family and friends are now dead, and what does she do?
She smiles and gets on the back of a white horse and rides off into the sunset.

So, the prince is about 25 and she is now 125.
Interesting!

Of course! His body would still grow while in the coma, only his brain wouldn't learn because he'd be unconscious.

The body developes, but due to inactivity, becomes gnarled and grotesque. That is why physical therapy is continued many times on comatose patients.
