For the itching, which will make it spread on your body, cook oatmeal. While warm rub it on the poison bumps. It will actually stop the itch. Guess it's the same as chicken pox where you can also pour baking soda into your warm bath water to stop the itching as well.

Yes it is jewel weed. It grows beside the ivy. Just pick a leaf and rub it on the area that the ivy is. It might not be as effective because you should use it within the hour that you touched the ivy.

There is a weed called jewel weed that you can rub on it to helpit dry out...it's an old hillbilly cure. Jewel weed is basically a snap dragon, orange flowers, hollow stalks and grows just about everywhere that you find poison ivy.

Try cutting some cedar twigs and boiling them until the water turns a dark green. Dip a washcloth in the water and put on your poison several times a day. I've tried it, and it seems to speed the healing process.

Mud, put some wet dirt on the ivy, let the mud dry, this also causes the ivy to dry.
