Helpful to who?
To your realtionship? No.
To your man? Hell, no.
To you? Not really. It's a selfish thing to do.
Why not just break up with them?
Why do you have to hurt them by stringing them along like that?

The most common answer to why people cheat is that something is wrong in the relation and the affair is a bi-product of those problems, even when most other aspects of the relationship are working well. “The problem” is often one that the faithful partner who would never think of cheating does not see or ignores cheating for one reason or another. Other times, the relation has changed and evolved in a way that leaves the cheating husband or cheating wife feeling left out or somehow empty. Those changes may include a shift in attitudes toward one another and the problems ensue. When a spouse feels that his or her needs are not being met, some turn to their work, others to drugs or alcohol and many to the arms of another man or woman. Although this appears to be the most common cause, there are others who engage in an affair or infidelity purely for the sex. They do not want their relationship to end, they simply seek the thrill that being with someone else brings. Either way, the pain, humiliation and betrayal are the same.
I do not know how cheating will be helpful, for either party to lie and betray do not leave nice feeling.

Cheating is the worst thing you can do, it shows that you have no respect for the relationship at all, in fact its like saying "You're not good enough for me" I'd rather be kicked in the nuts then cheated on, at least the pain then is only temporary

Cheating is so hurtful. If you really want to cheat, why not break up first? It makes the person on the receiving end feel really bad; and it makes you look even worse.

there is nothing good to come out of cheating. believe me.
i have been on all three corners of the triangle. ive cheated, ive been cheated on and i've been the "other woman" and it felt like crap on all count's. if you aren't happy with your partner, talk and sort out you problems, you will recieve and deserve much more respect in the long run.

No, I think by cheating you are also cheating with yourself (your own emotions, your own feelings..) If he is not worth it than leave him. Than you won't ever have to cheat.
