That's sad to watch how the christian parents lie to their children about Santa Clause being true.. its their example for the children to think that it is ok to lie because they 'd know if their parents lie when they learn the truth about Santa. i told my 6 children that Santa is not real because i cannot lie and that i told them about the history that copied the example about Santa . Even i didn't play the fairy when they lost their tooths and hid in the pillows.. i did nothing, but honest. The children are too smart to know if we tell the truth or not... make an good example in Christ for the world.... watch our tongues....or bite our tongues to stop doing that!

A lie is not just a lie. As you are not a parent - by saying this. When you have a child under 5 - you have to use the concepts they understand. Taken from your family, and community culture - you build a frame work for communication with your children. Special communal cultural days are a way to remind the child to behave.
The reward is many folded. The child learns about their culture, and learns patience, etc., and the parent gets a child that is obeying family, communities rules, AND SOME QUIET! (A parents dream is half an hour of quiet!)
So starting in Oct, rewarding proper actions is very intense upon the children, as they can feel and see - something important is about to happen, and the children change their behavior accordingly.
After children reach the age of reason, the parenting skills change to match the new adults entrance into the world. Each child is different, so parenting is different for each child.
Also, any adult that ruins the special bond between and child and their parent is to be cursed. The parent knows when to explain to the child - life's truths - NOT STRANGERS! ALL STRANGERS NEED TO BE QUIET!!
Who are you strangers to ruin a child’s life? How dare you even think of cutting a bond between a child and their parents. I curse you all now, so be forewarned. BE QUIET AROUND CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD!!!
USE WHATEVER YOU CALL A BRAIN - AND BE QUIET!! (Is it obvious I do not approve of nosy people?)

Good question and one worth thinking on. I never did tell my child that there was a real Santa. When he was six years old, he asked if santa was real and my reply was what do you think. He said no and I said that is the answer. He never had a problem with it. Children are not as dumb as some people put them to be. Parents do the right thing never lie.

Well to be a christian you must first lie to yourself by believing that the Torah is wrong, because it says you only have 7 commandments to follow to join the Jews when he returns.
As for as Santa it's so fun to watch the little kid hopping to see him and bring them to see all the lights, i even like Santa, but to the question this is where the lies are hatched in the young children hope for great stuff for their mother & father, but on X- mass, it's all forgoten because tearing and counting the presents is so much fun and then the next day go out and brag to the kids that are poorer than you

I'm a Christian and I lie sometimes because I'm human...I feel bad and repent.
When my kids were young and we had "santa", I used the term Santa to mean: "doing something for someone without them knowing it and not expecting something in return".

We still do "santa" things all year round. They're teens & know better. We never sat on Santa's lap or pointed out a man and called him Santa....I just used it as a term.

Actually, Santa Claus aks St. Nicholas patron Saint of Children did exist--historically and documentation proves this, however the concept of him giving presents and being a jolly old man is all commercialization of something more spiritual. Of course a better question is why believe in saints? PEACE!

yes but a lie that can disobey god is a lie not worth doing; a sin. Everybody tells about Santa Clause....he's somebody that kids look forword to hearing about.... he's an example of god.....he gives which parents try teaching their children...

Actually Santa Clause does exsist just not in the form most adult understand. He is an eternal spirit of loving, charity and kindness.
Also as far as I know it is not a sin to lie. It is not one of the 10 Commandments.

If we didn't lie now and then, most of us would be dead by now. I give you an example. You're on a train... someone catches you looking at them.

"what you lookin at?"

"I'm looking at you sir"

"what's your problem?!?"

"I don't have a problem"

"you being cheeky?"

"no"

this would result in being punched. So if you're an idiot, feel free not to lie occasionally. I'm pretty sure God wouldn't want someone smacking you in the face. But hey, what would I know.
