Because men are to stupid and inconsiderate to do so. If toliet seats were meant to be left up - we would only have urinals. Sit down on a toliet that has seat left up and you will understand why - you doofus!

I always leave it up in a bachelors home!
what is good for them is good for me! (men)
I dont ask something of some one unless I expect it of myself!
If i have to put it down in my home its all good I have a full house!

Because we never lift it, and that is where it is supposed to be. Also in the middle of the night it is nice not to have to worry about falling in!
