It's a Diamondback Hybrid Edgewood '06... The back wheel is slightly (its about a 4 degree bend) bent, and the the right handlebar is bent about 12 degrees down. Is there anything I can do short of buyin a new rim and handlebar?

if your talking about a bent rim from an impact, then you may be able to slavage it yourself. you'll need a spoke wrench, available for a cuple dollars. adjust the spoke tension around the bent areas. you want more tesion on the spokes opposite the direction of the bend. if your not confident you can do it, take it to a bike shop and they'll fix it cheaper than buying a new rim. as for the handlebars....idk how the hell you bent them. if its that bad you shoud brobably invest in a stronger set. i have a bontrager Crowbar with the cross beam in between the bends. it will never bend. it cost $40.

The wheel you can true if you have a spoke wrench. You tighten and loosen the nipples on the spokes to move the tension around. As for your handlebars BUY NEW ONES!!! ANYTIME you bend metal and bend it back you weaken it which means it will bend way easier next time and can possibly hurt you if you ride hard like that. So dont risk it.

Its almost impossible to straighten either your handlebar or the wheel. If you do, it just weakens the metal on both and eventually they'll rebend or break. You can try getting a small butane torch and heating the handle bar , then bending it. But my suggestion is just buy a new handlebar and wheel.

There are cheap handlebars available ( www.ebay.com ---click SPORTING GOODS then look for Mountain Bikes and PARTS---there's definitely a BAR that you' ll find CHEAP ---choose a RISER type ) ---the backwheel can be adjusted and made TRUE by the BIKE MECHANIC in your area. ( Or buy a new one in PRICEPOINT---www.pricepoint.com). Its DANGEROUS to use DAMAGED handlebars----I also suggest you use THULE rack system for your bike----its WORTH it!
