LMAO
TY for making my day
quote
" don't get a beagle, they are very active, sometimes agressive hunting dogs,, get a golden retreaver"
Now if you are not going to get a Beagle because they are a HUNTING dog, why would you consider a RETRIEVER, did it ever occur to you that maybe by chance that a Golden might be a HUNTING dog???
Actually Beagles are one of the friendliest breeds around, and make great pets.., But like most other breeds Beagles do have their own list special needs. (like a good fence)

I agree that a Beagle is not the best breed for a lot of people. They are destructive, they howl and need loads of exercise. If you must have one, find a Beagle Rescue and adopt a homeless dog.

This shelter usually has all breeds of dogs.
Here is a link for all Beagles in the Dallas area on Petfinder.

You should do a LOT of research on Beagles before you get one. They are stubborn, hyper, hard to train, extremely noisy, and often suffer from separation anxiety. Other than that they are sweet, loving dogs and godd with children.
Here is a link to Beagles at Breed Info Center.

Here is a link to a "quiz" that will match your needs with the best breeds of dog for you.

I live in Dallas Tx. and I have a 10 (almost 11) yr. old male neutered purebred beagle. he's in VERY good health and always has been. you can't have him though, sorry!! he's mine, and besides, you probably wouldn't want him anyway because of his age. his name is Bandit! Good Luck though!!
P.S. yahoo answers is open to literally the whole entire world you know!

Go to www.akc.org, click on 'breeds' then 'breed rescue' & contact the closest Beagle rescue group - they charge minimal fees (to cover vets, food) to place Beagles in new homes.

Type in Beagle Pups for sale and all sorts of sites will pop up. They will ask you what state and so forth. This is how I found my Sheltie puppy.

Check out your local shelter or rescue...I'm sure you'll find a wonderful companion there. And it will already be speutered, up to date on shots, wormed, and ready to have a second chance at life!
