Nobody "owns" a crocodile.
Crocodiles are animals, just like us. Actually, in some ways, they are better than us. Their species has been around since the dinosaurs, long before we human evolved.
Cruel people can kill crocodiles and confine them (and even taunt them for TV shows), but they cannot morally "own" another living creature, any more than US slaveowners had a moral right to "own" slaves.
