He was working at a light house and turned off the light at the top of the light house and the ships crashed (my youth paster told me it)

The man was the lighthouse keeper, when he turned off the lights the ships couldn't see where the land was and crashed. Thus, they could not swim, the impact caused fatal injuries, or the water was extreamly cold, causing hypothermia to set in. these are a few possible solutions.
