Do not give your dog aspirin without a recommendation from the vet.. We think of aspirin as harmless, but to dogs, especially older dogs, it can be deadly..It only takes one regular aspirin to cause internal ulcer or bleeding..Your dog will recover best with a bone/joint health supplement available at any pet supply or livestock supply.
The vet might prescribe buffered aspirin, or Rymadol, but neither should be given without a total health evaluation..

When a joint is dislocated, the muscles and tendons around the joint are basically loosened and will take time to heal properly to where it no longer bothers your dog. You can massage around the joint area (not very hard) or apply warm compresses while the dog is laying down and eventually this will help the dog. My knees/hips used to dislocate when I was younger due to medical problems and I had excersizes that I had to do afterward to help strengthen the muscles and tendons around the joint. I hope everything works out well for you...

I gave my dog that had a hip replacement some anti-inflammatory medication. Even Motrin for pain on stiff cold or rainy days.

Sounds like she may have developed arthritis from her injury. Take her to her vet and see what they think is best for her, especially with winter coming. She doesn't want to be cranky, but aren't we all when we're in pain?

Well, I would take your dog to the vet because maybe that is normal. They might have a prescription or some advice.

Yes, definitely - look on Web for DGP (Dog gone Pain)..primary ingredients are shark cartilage and other natural stuff. Until you can get it - go to natural food store (GNC?) anfd get shark cartilage capsules. Send me your e-mail/fax # and I will send you article on shark cartilage. It works.!!
