In the middle of things a window pops up and says Windows is closing Please send error report.

Hmm... I have a Dell XPS 400 as well and have never had that problem. Might be a virus or something that norton isn't picking up. Try an online virus scan such as
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym
Or download spywear, might be something like that..Good luck. and if the computer isn't to old and still has warranty, try calling Dell services and ask them for assistance.

Sounds like trouble, but send the error report especially if it's still being support ted by Microsoft, you could also try researching the error yourself at their website. Peace!

Run your Anti-virus program. You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.
If this still happens, then reboot into SAFE MODE. Use the F8 key just before the STARTING WINDOWS screen appears. Then run all of these scans.

does this happen only when you use one particular program? if so reinstall it.
have you installed anything recently? if so, remove it as this could be whats causing the problem.
also make sure you check your system for viruses. theres loads of free virus scanning software out there..
try www.grisoft.com and download the free AVG virus scanner.

call dell, they have an icon with number on it, they are very helpful.
