I have an extremely active Dalmatian. She loves to run and needs the exercise to get to sleep at night. There are some nights I just can't get up the energy to go running or biking for 2 or 3 miles. I had heard of treadmills for dogs. Then I could set it up next to mine, and I could walk while she runs. Does anyone know where I can get one?

never heard of that before--if you are sure about it then call a pet shop to inquire or do a search on the net.

hire a dogs walker. Your dogs will earnings lots extra from the exterior journey and the interplay with the walker lots extra desirable than being caught on a treadmill. dogs choose emotional stimulation mixed with actual stimulation so the treadmill won't meet your dogs's desires.

If your dog is large, then a regular treadmill will do, just be sure that you supervise so that they don't get hurt.

You should buy a used one from www.craigslist.org (search in your local area, the default is San Francisco, CA) or go to a Play It Again Sports or other used sporting goods store.

Good Luck!

i don't know where you can get one of those treadmills let me tell you, please keep your dog active. i owned a dalmatian in high school and we ran together and rollerbladed each day. she loved it. when i wasn't allowed to bring her to college she had to stay behind with my parents. they aren't nearly as active with her as i was and as time went by she gained a lot of weight. she is now still overweight and is on a diet plan. i think the treadmill is a good idea for your dog. good luck!

haha. well, i don't know if they make treadmills for dogs unless you'll be willing to pay a lot of $$$. It'll probally be cheaper to just let your dog use a people's treadmill.

In the wrong hands, that could be SO inhumane. If there is such a thing, PLEASE be careful with your dog. Remember, she depends on you for good judgement. Please be worthy of that trust. I say this because I am an animal lover, not to be insulting to you. Have a great life with your canine shild!!!
