You're free to read whatever you wish, as long as you keep your mind open while you're doing it.

Yes you should. But don't delve into it and read it straight through. Go to a Bible book store and get a bible study guide, or ask the sales lady for some suggestions, they are usually really helpful. Wal-Mart has a good book called "Knowing the Bible 101" good book if you've never read the Bible. I have read the Bible, but I'm using it to go through it again.
Good Luck on your journey. God Bless You!

The Bible has proved beneficial in many lives.for instance 2Tim.3:16,17 says;"All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial
for teaching,for reproving,for setting things straight,for
disciplining in righteousness,'17' that the man of God may be
fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." But the
Bible can be hard to understand at times. And thats why we like to
encourage people to get some one who knows and reads it often
to study it with them.you might want to turn your Bible to the book
of Romans.15:4 it reads;"For all the things that were written
aforetime were written for our instruction, and through our endu-
rance and through the comfort from the scriptures we might
have hope. If you would like to study the bible get in touch with
Jehovah's witnesses in your area or on-line............

yes you should! The Bible should be studied with an open mind. If we believe that it is inspired by God, we should also believe that He is capable of delivering His Word without error or contradictions, despite the different languages, writers, translations, geographic locations, and time frame. If we find something that appears to be a contradiction, we should try to figure out how "we" are interpreting it incorrectly, and change "our" beliefs to match His. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (KJV)
Luke 24:45 Then he opened their minds that they might understand the Scriptures.

Yes you should. It was what convinced me I should be an atheist.
You should read a lot of other things too. Read everything you can. It's the best way to discover how you feel about things.
