I'm catholic, I have observed that the world doesn't understand catholicism. The catholic church has the fullness of christianity. We have both the unwritten word of god as passed down by the apostles and the written word of god, the bible. we have the 7 sacrements, and a central authority (the vatican) that prevents disunity and conflict in interpreting the sciptrures, thus preserving the faith as ONE, just liek Jesus commanded,

If the beliefs are understood, then they're fine, but mostly I think it's too much "brainwashing". I don't want anyone telling me I'm obligated to any religion or religious observance.. Too many people follow it to the letter, and I don't believe that's what religion is about. It makes Catholics very closed minded to anyone else, or their beliefs..

I think Catholicism can be a great moral system, but it seems to paint an angry God more than a peaceful, forgiving God........ especially moreso in the past (parents could tell you stories)......but I think it still paints this picture and it shouldn't because God is all loving/forgiving.

I think any faith in God is good, as long as it causes you to do good things and feel comforted. I think organized religion is a fairly dangerous thing, and so it's not for me.
People I've met have thought strange things about Catholics, you should get interesting responses!

Scripture would reveal it to be a very pagan practice. Scriptures such as "Call no man father except your father which is in Heaven", "Make no graven images to bow down before" "Do not pray in repetition as the heathen do" To pray to Mary is strictly forbidden, Christ is our only mediator between God and man. I could go on but I think you get the idea.

It's too much ritual and not about preaching a good sermon. There's no upbeat Gospel music or anything. No wonder there are so many non-practicing Catholics; they aren't taught to be on fire for God.

My Bible does not say anything about praying to MARY or other saints! JESUS is the only way to GOD! So it makes me sad! I hate for people not to understand the word of GOD! bye now
