Why does my ex-boyfriend who broke up with me 1.5 years ago when I moved away to college still call me? He has a new girl at home and tells me.."he is lonely" i don't think he wants to get back together because he has never mentioned it..he just always says he loves me...i am a corner in his life (i helped him get his career going)...and that he has strong emotions for me. we have talked every two weeks or so (he calls me) for the last two years and he comes to see me when i am in town. what are his intentions? i still love him and would love to get back together with him but never say it bc i get the vibe he wants me to have fun and enjoy college (i am seven years younger). My opinion is, that he feels lonely whenever he calls you. Either he's not happy in his relationship or he doesnt have one. Whatever the reason is for that, it's really not your problem. He's most likely just hanging on to an old crush because he cant find another one or hasnt gotten over you for some reason.
Starting a relationship with him would be a mistake on your part. He's obviously going for it for the wrong reasons, he hasnt found himself and is trying to find comfort and his self-respect from you. What you should do is just be friends with him (no I love you stuff) and if he cant do that, just cut him off and tell him its for his best. Definetly start going out with other people, you dont want to miss out on that college life nor miss out on anything because someone has issues.
