all these people i see around me have straight hair. You could pick me out like a sore thumb because of my natural curly hair
but why arn't there more people born with curly hair?

its because of your genes. curly hair is the recessive gene. straigh hair is the dominant gene. the only way for a recessive feature to show is if you have two recessive genes.

I have a uniqe situation that probably no one can relate to, UI was born with bone straight platium blonde and up unti I was about 7 years old it stayed like that, and for about three years after that, it was wavy and a litte darker than platium, and over the years it has gotten more and more curly, and almost brown, but to answer your question I really don't know It's odd, I guess it's more common to have a child woth straight hair because curly hair is because of damaged hair folicals

Straight hair is a dominate gene while curly hair is a recessive gene just like blue eyes, freckles, and widow's peak.

I got curly hair I guess it makes me special but personally I HATE curly hair I wish I had straight!Oh and yeah I am white.I tried straighteing mine It's just wayyy too puffy man.

well straight hair is a dominant gene so its more likely for a person to have straight hair. i also have curly hair but i straighten it. if u r bothered cause u have curly hair why dont u just straighten it???

it's just genetic. BUT it could be because of where exactly you are. I dont no where u are but say if u go 2 Peru(just an example..i've never been) it might be more common for everyone to have curly hair. Widen your world

this is because people with darker skin color are most likely to be born with curly hair no one really knows a scientist is the right person that knows.

i dont know why...but learn how to care for your curly hair and learn to love itt!!!! curly hair is so beautiful. I have curly hair and everyone is jealous. :-)
