All that is going to accomplish is a lot of unnecessary heartache for all parties involved. There are plenty of single people, it would be foolish to hurt your best friend over something that is probably only intriguing because you know it is wrong. Relationships are hard enough, you would have a major strike against you from the get go. Good friends are hard to come by, you have to be a good friend too.

depends on the amount of time passed since they dated, how long they dated, and how the friend feels about it.
