My darling child has decided he wants to be a Zebra. He has drawn all over himself with a permanent black marker. Does anyone know a safe way to remove it?

I have heard you could use rubbing alcohol or lemons... I just found this online as well:
The easiest and quickest way to remove permanent ink from skin is with a spray on, mist-style sunscreen. Just spray it on the spot to be removed and then take a dry cloth or paper towel and wipe it away. If it is not removed completely the first time, repeat and all will be well.

Good Luck! :)

Sorry, tough luck. The permanent marker acts sort of like a crud tatoo ink. It sinks into the skin and actually dyes it. You just have to wait till that skin naturally wears away. One thing I have heard of though, is to use baking soda. I've never uaed it, and since it's on his face I'm not sure if you'd want to. Here's a site anyway with instructions. It's 95 on the list.

I had numbers written on me a week ago for a triathlon. They use a permanent black marker so it won't wash off in the swim. After 1 week it's almost completely gone. As long as the marker is non-toxic I would do my best to get it off by it should be gone in a week anyway.

Ajax! That is what was used in school to get permanent marker off the kids where I work! With a sponge and warm water gently scrub it off!

nail polish remover works. My friend owns a daycare, and thats what she uses and it works. Just make sure after you use it, to give the kid a bath. Or your home with smell like a nail salon!

My daughter does the same thing, I just stick her in the tub and wash what I can off and let the rest wear off.
