just got into an argument with my mother,told her i wanted to become muslim.she flipped.does not listen to reason.what can i say to her to allay her fears? any former christians with similar issues?help!

i also left their religion for 'greener' pastures.though my mother didnt flip,she did feel bad for a while.she along with 1sister and two brothers are muslim now!alhamdulilah.so relax.and remember to show her the utmost respect.my moms told me that after i wrote her a letter explaining my decision and the religion of truth she had an awakening.wallahi shes been muslim for about 5yrs. now.so invite her with your actions,she'll be fine.

Ask yourself why you want to convert. Do you believe in your heart you are doing the right thing. Only you can decide to make that decision. I hope you understand why she is flipping out. Because she knows the truth and it's hard to make someone see something they don't want to see. My son is the same way except he is not aiming at Islam. All we as mothers can do is pray for our children to make the right decisions in life. God Bless and Good luck.

I am sure that somewhere she feels bad that she did not explain your Christian roots well enough so you wanted to change religions. I think you are wrong to do so but, I bet you anything deep down inside she is blaming herself for your decision

why do you want to be a muslim? maybe if she knew why that might help. still a christian here.
