Wash your clothes as soon as you are finished with them. If that is not possible you can add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the wash water.

This will not only stop any discoloration but will also take out any smells.
If you are concerned that your clothes will smell like vinegar, don't worry they wont.

You can also add baking soda if you have that on hand but not vinegar.

I will sometimes use a small (very small) amount of shampoo instead of laundry detergent.

Washing machine and Gain - then use a fabric softener sheet in the dry. That should do the trick.
