BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A bomb killed 34 people in Baghdad's Sadr City Shi'ite slum on Saturday as Iraq's minority Sunnis began the fasting month of Ramadan, which U.S. commanders said might see a rise in sectarian bloodshed.
The bomb -- most likely a car bomb, according to police -- struck near a tanker distributing kerosene for stoves in Sadr City, whose two million or more poor residents are the
power base of cleric Moqtada al-Sadr and his Mehdi Army militia.
In addition to the 34 people killed in Sadr City, 35 were injured, many badly burnt. Sunnis claimed responsibility, declaring the attack revenge for killings by Shi'ite militia.
THESE KINDS OF KILLINGS ARE GOING ON ALL THE WHILE.

all the people there have been doing this forever, and even in the bible they were fighting over land that never got resolved to this day with all the descendents/ancestors. This is what they know to kill one another, this has escalated from the Bible times and before.

aw, c'mon, mate, it's just claims! Anyone can say that. Where are their proofs, their mission order papers, their ID's that state they are members of that group and the confirmations from those groups. Would you immediately believe me if i gave you a million dollars and say i was sent by God and have chosen you to be the benefactor because i just like you.
Analyse the target, poor community, and who would ever think of hurting them for sure would ignite their fury for retaliation against suspected culprits? In the manual principles of war,an impoverished individual or community is easily aroused to anger and likely fight to the death against those who wish them ill.So, they were targeted by some group or agency with sidden agendas. Another principle of war who would like to win is to create havoc first by pitting his enemies against each other. And when they are weakened, it's time to step in and annihilate both of them. Very simple! It's been ondoing since the dawn of civilization. What is really needed is a thorough investigation to find out who this criminals really are and make them answer for it. No need to escalate the so many sufferings already endured throughout the world/

Perhaps I'm missing something, but what in the heck has this got to do with religion? That country is on the verge of civil war, which has no more to do with religion than the civil war the USA once had.
Reply to Addition Details: Sorry, still don't see the missing bits. Your view seems far too simplistic. Like most countries, Iraq is a country divided by religion, ethnic, cultural, and other, differences. In this instant, because of destabilizing factors, those divisions are in conflict with each other. But I don't see how one can indict just one of those differences, religion, while ignoring the others. In other words, I still don't see what this has got to do with religion.

More muslims are killed by other muslims than any other way the news said. They have been fighting for centuries.
When the USA leaves do you believe there will be peace?
One man was quoted as saying the only good thing about it is that most of the ones who died where women.
Why do they have such a low regard for women. Does that make it any less tragic. They want us to believe we are monsters when we kill women or children and yet they say that is better to kill a women than a man?

It is just too much and they come here and say that Islam is peace or that these people are not muslims..
I know that there are peaceful ones, but I think they are not thinking when they deny all this.. crazy
The kkk is not doing things like this today, and the christians are not. This is today and not "so what" When they blow up a bus that you are on will you say "so what" ??? or a plane.. .
This is today and now.
Putting the shoe on the other foot.. If Islam took over the USA, do you think that the christian churches should then start bombing each other to protest??? That is Iraq..

True Christianity - not George Bush's version.
Don't forget what Jesus said -
But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. Matthew 5:39
If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Luke 6:29

I am sorry about hot spot in the map with killings and sorrow. It's not a religion itself, it's a blindness of people and total stupidity that can produce all that.
