I haven't been scared by religious discussion. Also, it'd be nice if you didn't generalize about all atheists, assuming that every one gets "scared" or "bothered" by "others talking about religions".
And why do I care about religion? You really wanna know? Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4fQA9mt-Mg
That's why.

Scared? You have them confused with the Christians. The Christians know that with only the bible as proof of anything they do not stand a chance in a debate with an atheist. Hey, I am sorry. It is true. Faith in God is illogical and cannot be defended, not really. I believe in God, they are definitely not scared of me. To be honest, I would rather eat nails than debate any of the atheists on here. I would lose, big time.

To a believer, imagine you're in a huge room filled with people that believe in Santa Claus. These people go into great depth on what Santa wore and what thinks and they imagine who's on the Good List and who's on the Bad List. Now imagine that these people get into fights and have guns and kill each other over this belief. Would you be scared?

Why should people be scared of religion? Because religion is dangerous.
It's dangerous to have people who believe that their God wants them to kill nonbelievers. It's dangerous to have people who believe that rapists and murders should not be imprisoned because "only God can judge people." It's dangerous to have people who believe that prayer will heal their children and that there is no need to ever take them to see a doctor. It's dangerous to have people who believe that scriptures are the literal truth and that science is all the work of the devil.
These beliefs are all present in the world today and they are all the direct result of religion.

Scared of what? Its believers that are scared. They've got to latch onto something to get them through life because they are not strong enough people to make their own decisions,or cope with life without some crutch.

Not scared. Annoyed, maybe, in a "Great, here we go again," sort of way. Angry, when they use their religion as an excuse to hate and oppress. But not scared. What is there to be scared of?

When you delusional superstitionists (religionists) blow up the world to make your silly end of the world prophesies come true, we will be in the middle. That's why we care, you're all nuts.

I don't. I never go to church, I never even talk about my athiest beliefs. I keep it to myself which is the repectful thing to do. I expect religious people to keep it to themselves as well. That's all.

Most "atheists" would rather believe that they right then to believe they will be judged. They figure it is easier to believe in "nothing" then to believe they have a purpose. I think they suffer from low self esteem.
