The legal limit for drinking and driving in Britain is 80 mg/dl (17.4 mmol/l) of alcohol in the blood. This was chosen 20 years ago on the basis of studies that have recently been reanalysed. Changes in public opinion, the results of recent research, and the evaluation of other countermeasures, such as random breath testing, show that there are good grounds for revising the legal limit downwards. It is suggested that the legal limit should be reduced from 80 mg/dl to 50 mg/dl (10.9 mmol/l) and random breath testing introduced as in most Nordic countries. A zero limit is proposed for learner and first year drivers, who are likely to have accidents even with low concentrations of alcohol in their blood.

In almost all of the U.S. The legal Blood Alcohol Limit is .08 Depending on how big you are, and other factors, this is only about two or three beers or shots or small glasses of wine. If you feel at all "buzzed" you are probably over the limit.
At any rate, the B.A.C. used to be .1 but many people had "sobered up" enough by the time they got to the police station. In other words they were then only .09 or .08 So the cops had to let them go.
The best advise is not to risk it. Get a designated driver or take a taxi. It's not worth all the trouble you can get in, not to mention you could kill someone or yourself.

I think it is a pint.Don't drink and drive. If you go in group one person can be the designated driver, and cannot drink. As they are the one to drive you home. It is a good idea to save lives. Hope this helps you out.
