Manetho an egyptian priest wrote that great gods reigned over Egypt for a total of 12,300 years:
Ptah,Ra,Shu,Geb,Osiris,Seth,Horus,
the second dynastry consisted of twelve divine rulers, there were forty nine divine and semi-divine rulers over Egypt. Only thereafter Men established the first human dynasty of the pharaohs in 3100 BC, did the pharaohs adopt the religion of those gods who preceded them probably yes because they have this cult of the Bennu bird an eagle which died and reappeared at intervals lasting several millenia the same as the story of Ra which landed on earth,, and Geb stretched the earth for him..
How could the egyptians believe in that? probably the population that existed at that time disappeared and another conquerers replaced them and egyptians today are still not able to understand the religion of the pharaohs , we are still deciphering it ..

No. Islam has taken over the country. There are a few Christians (Coptics) and other faiths there also, but mostly it is Islam.

Most are Muslims now but I think the Rosicrucians still hold most of the same beliefs.
