Okay, I'm not asking if God exists. I have seen him do some crazy sh!t and I know that he's real.
My question is: Has anyone actually tested the religions out? They can't all be real. There can only be one true religion, at least that's what most religions say.

I've always considered myself Christian but then I realized so far I've only proved to myself that God's real, but I haven't seen any proof that Christianity is real.

I believe we can test out a lot of these religions. If miracles can happen in the Bible they should be able to happen right now. Stuff like having a group of sick people and praying for 1/2 of them and logging what happens; I believe that would be a worthwhile test. Do any of you guys know about a group or something that tests to try to prove/disprove religions?

Wow. Thanks guys, I had no idea so many people cared so much about this topic. I have asked God about this subject. He's said that I have to know this before I can ever speak about it. And ya I'll email you what has happened that led me to believe that I know God exists. I just bought the book "evidence that demands a verdict" and I'll check into the other book mentioned.

Discovery of our universe can be interpreted as evidence in support of the conclusion that our universe is part of an infinity, divinity, eternally one that manifests as an infinite four. Discovery of our universe can also be interpreted as evidence in support of the conclusion that our universe is an entity on to itself. Given the limitations imposed upon our senses and perceptions by the alien fractal infernal temporal infinitesimal dimensions of our seed bodies and given the limitations of the alien, fractal, infernal, temporal tools of science, I simply can not know for sure whether our universe is a part of an infinity, divinity eternally one that manifests as an infinite four or an entity on to itself. The universe as evidence supports both theories.

How is it that finite scientists can use their finite fractal infernal temporal tools to quantify infinity, qualify divinity, measure the duration of eternity, and know all that there is to know about the totality of existence? They cannot. Just because they cannot does not mean that our universe is an entity on to itself. Maybe it means that an infinity, divinity, eternally one remains hidden to scientifically reproducible discovery because scientists are too limited in their abilities to gather evidence, make inferences and draw conclusions. Scientists devote much of their energy, space and time to using the finite fractal infernal temporal tools of science to gather truth about what we can know and profiting by applying an understanding. Scientists generally don't concern themselves with myth and fantasy based on mystery in their work.

I think, believe and expect that my extreme myths are true because I do not know if my extreme myths are true or false and because to think, believe and expect that my extreme myths are true produces in my mind the most powerful emotional responses of joy, faith and love imaginable. With the most powerful emotional responses of joy, faith and love imaginable I balance the emotional responses of sad sorrow, mad fear, and bad anger produced by the discovery of the impending disease and death of my seed body. By balancing the emotive forces of the mind, I achieve and maintain happiness.

Religion is just a specified opinion on the greater power that may/may not exist. Personally, I don't think it's 100% possible for any relgion to be completely correct, but that's not even the point. When you follow a specific religion, it's for personal fulfillment and for what YOU believe to be right. You can't TEST a religion, because even if you pray and whatever it was was not in God's plan, it might still not happen, or might happen in a different way, or whatever- answer to prayer is subject to opinion. Personally, I think God knows what He's doing and I'm just going with it- but when you choose a religion, it has to be according to what FEELS right to you- what you believe doesn't even have to be exactly what anyone else believes. You can be a Christian and disagree with certain things in the dogma or whatever, it's really just down to you and what you feel to be right. If religion was a fact and science based thing, it wouldn't require faith and the whole point would be moot.

I see Christianity as the only true belief since it's the only one that provides a way to get rid of sin. Religions say you need to do something to get to heaven, Christianity points out that there's nothing you *can* do. Adam sinned, Christ died, the doing is done. Now we need to believe in Christ and that means obeying His commands. The reason religions fail is bc they say you have to do something to get into heaven. You can't, it's like trying to purify gold by adding gold, it doesn't work. You have to refine out the impurities, and Jesus is the refiner. You go to Him and give your life to Him, and He purifies you by taking your sin on Himself.

That's the difference between Christianity and religion, Christianity is a relationship with Christ. If you want some evidence, Christ's resurrection. No one has been able to refute it. If it didn't happen, why did the disciples die believing it did? And why didn't the authorities produce the body? Why did Saul (who became the apostle Paul), who approved of the stoning of Stephen, become a Christian if nothing happened on that road? You have someone who got paid to kill Christians turn around and become one, why would he do that if nothing happened on that road?

I could probably think of other things, but it would take a lot more space.

The reason I believe and cling to Jesus is because of how people react to it. From time to time people have tried to prove the Bible is false, but no one has bothered trying to discredit other religions. Have you noticed that yourself? It also helps that The Word of God always wins and the people who tried to prove it wrong end up scratching their heads. I have good cause to believe that Jesus is the answer.

I am not a cristian or a pagan or anything really, I believe in god heres what I think...

religion is for people who are afraid of "hell"
spirituality is for people who have been through hell.

I thin that as long as we all have some higher power that is greater that us and is positive influance then were in good shape.

No religion is ‘the one true religion'.

People with different mental dispositions need different religions. One religion simply cannot satisfy everyone.

Therefore, for the *individual*, the concept of one religion and one truth is very important. Without this one cannot develop genuine faith and follow it faithfully.

With regard to the *community* we obviously need the concept of several religions and several truths. Pluralism.

This is the way to overcome contradictions between several religions and several truths and one religion and one truth. Thus, a person has one religion and one truth on the individual level and one has several religions and several truths on the community level.

Think about it this way- if God has revealed himself to you throught these things you have seen him do, why don't you ask him? It sounds simple, but its worthwhile. I was in the same boat as you, and i have just recently found what is right. I would actually like to hear from you and listen to what he has done in your life if that is ok.

The true test is in Jesus Christ. If you read his words and believe, you can be saved! If you read his words and disbelieve, you will not be saved.

"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven" -Matthew 10:32

It is not good to "test" God. Ask yourself this.: "Does it feel right?"
