Should we use the LAW when we Evangelize to reach the concience of people when preaching. Once they understand their sin, is it not then easier to tell them about God's love and grace for those who believe in Jesus Christ who died to pay for our sins? Whatya think folks ???

Ever heard of Kirk Cameron or his ministry Way of The Master?
They use that technique all the time. there is a website and a tv show dedicated to teaching that method.
He even used it in a couple of the Left Behind movies.
I'm surprised you've never heard of it, but you should check it out. They have tons of materials and info.

I think it's O.K. to use the ten commandments as a base for instruction. But don't forget what Jesus said about the LAW!

What does Jesus teach again and again and again? We must WANT to act out of compassion: 1. to love God with ALL our being and above all "things" and 2. to love (be kind to) ALL our fellow human beings, even those who don't agree with us or those we don't agree with.

Jesus says those two are the "first and foremost commandments" and are the basis of THE LAW. Any other laws or interpretations of laws that don't align with those two basic laws are invalid.

Just imagine! If all humans would willingly (not because they have been told) act out of compassion toward the "others" there truly would be peace on Earth! Unfortunately we are not perfect and to bear "our cross" often seems too hard (or illogical, or "unscientific, or "unrealistic"). - No, I'm not perfect either!

That's why we have to learn to be honest to ourselves and admit that we have failed, again and again and again, and resolve to (at least try to) do better next time!

Because WE are not perfect we also have to forgive others for offences they may have committed against us.

We can then ask for forgiveness for ourselves and get "peace of mind" - until the next time.

As someone put it: " Love (I don't mean SEX!) is the answer - whatever the question"!

The use of the 10 commandments, or God's Moral Law, in evangelism is biblical. You would be following in the foot steps of some of the old testament prophets, as well as people of the new testament, like Jesus, Peter, Paul, Timothy, John, Titus, as well as great preachers throughout history like, John Wesley, George Whitfield, Johnathan Edwards, and Charles Spurgeon. And that's just to name a few. Biblical evangelism has always been, without exception "Law to the proud, and grace to the humble." Never in the Scriptures will you see anyone giving the grace of our Lord to a proud, self righteous arrogant person. Like wise, you will never see anyone giving the law to a humble broken and contrite person.

Why not? Jesus did. Paul did. The law was designed to show us what sin is and lead us to Christ. I think it is essential to say, "Hey, I'm a liar, a thief, an adulter at heart, etc." . I am all these things in God's eyes. He knows that I am deserving of Hell, yet He still saved me by sending Jesus to pay for my sins so I wouldn't have to go there.

Techniquely, the 'Ten Comandments' and other 'laws' were done away when Christ died on the cross. However, 9 of the 10 commandments were reinstituted in the 'new law', they are reworded and require a little more looking/understanding. If one does use them, be aware of the problems one WILL probably (long term) encounter.

All are sinners and come short of the glory of the Lord, yet He loves us and provided the greatest sacrifice that we should have a place in the inheritance of eternal life dwelling in His presence. There is no greater love. I don't think we spend a lot of time pointing out another person's sins... especially since we are not the judges of another person's sins and are not really qualified to point them out. I've had a lot of people approach me and the one that got my attention was only that ALL have sinned and are equally called to salvation.

Bear in mind that evolution applies to human activity and societies as well as species. It is obviously an advantage to the survival of a society that its members don't kill each other or steal from each other, and religions that adopt those principles will more likely survive than those that do not.

Jesus was a teacher of the old testament and he said I am here to fulfill the law

We should show them Gods love, but at the same time let them see the rules. It all comes as a package.

Instead of telling other people how to live, obey the rules yourselves.

When you've done that for a few hundred years, you can talk to others about it.
