The Jesuit general (leader) used to be called that but I think it's mostly used today as a bad name for that person.
He would be called black because of his dress, a black cassock in contrast to the pope's that is white and the red pope the reds of a cardinal leading the Propaganda fide.

Although I do not know if they were Black, there have been at least three African popes:
• St. Victor I (189-199)
• St. Melchiades (311-314)
• St. Gelasius (492-496)

With love in Christ.

I don't know. I'm a very new Christian. I'd guess it would be a pope that was not good! But it could be the first pope of African origin, which I think would be very nice.

There hasn't been a black pope. There are a few black bishops though.
