According to the Bible, the only mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ. The Bible never refers to Mary as the queen of anything. This queenship of Mary is founded solely on the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. In the autumn of 1954 pope Pius XII elevated Mary to new glory and new heights by symbolically crowning her the reigning queen of heaven and of all creation. This is not supported by Scripture. Its another example of manmade traditions that are prevalent in false religions. (Note Jesus' own words at Mark 7:7, 8 - "It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines commands of men.’ Letting go the commandment of God, you hold fast the tradition of men.”)

As far as the Bible is concerned, one should pray to the Almighty God, through Jesus. Prayers to any other made up deity is idolatry, which is a sin. This would include Mary, mother of Jesus, as well as Rosary beads, and other religious icons which are usually statues.
Though Mary is the mother of Jesus, that's all she was. Being that Jesus is the "son" of God and not God himself, that does not make Mary the mother of God. It's this belief that gave Mary a deity type of status, which is a totally corrupt translation.
If people would read the Bible more carefully and open their minds, they would see this and make the necessary corrections.

This is mostly a catholic tradition and not a biblical one! No where in the Bible does it say to pray to idols or other gods which unfortunatly Mary has become.

Jeremiah 7:18-19 8 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. 19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?

So is praying to Mary biblical?

Exodus 20:4-6 4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Mary was adopted by the Catholic church to fill the roll of goddess worship for the pagans. Mary worship comes from the infiltration of pagan customs into the church to allow the pagans to call themselves christians when they were forced to convert but not give up their un-christian beliefs. Mary is never portrayed as anything more than a good woman in the Bible. She is not the object of worship. This is creation worship. The Bible teaches Creator worship, meaning worship Yehway only!

The Queen of Heaven is Queen Semiramus and you can read all about her and the Babylonian religious system that has infiltrated the church over the years. This is one of the reasons why the reformation happened.

You should only pray to the God of the Bible, Yehway!

P.S. To Dartheric11

You take the scripture out of context. Yes the scripture says the begining of the prayer but that was not being used as a prayer. You are taking the focus off of Yehway the creator and putting it on the creation. That is unbiblical. We must use dicernment in these situations and read the context of the scripture, not take the scripture and turn it into whatever we want.

The term "Queen of Heaven" is actually a Greek Goddess. It is wrong to pray to anyone other than the trinity- Father, Son and Holy Spirit because they have all the power. Mary was a human and has no power in Heaven.

Mary as the mother of Jesus has a special place in heaven and many people think she can intercede for us as any loving mother would do. I think if Mary was just an 'icon' people wouldn't continue believing in Her 20 centuries after bringing Jesus to the world and still ask her for favors through prayers if She didn't have enough importance in our lives.

By the way, catholics ARE christians since they take Christ as a role model and as the Son of God

I know the Catholics put Mary up on a pedestal and pray hail Marys, and christians acknowledge Mary, but not in a "queen of heaven" form. The Bible says to pray in the name of the father through Jesus Christ not through Mary.

Mary sure was special to be chosen to carry the messiah. However not a word in the bible calling
Her Queen of heaven. Not one word saying pray to
her.Only in the end times the bible says then will
the mystery of the woman be revealed.I assume
that to be Mary as she does appear all over this
earth, and has for a very long time. When Jesus
was asked how to pray he said in this manner
and said The Our Father

I was raised Southern Baptist and we were taught to worship or pray to only God. (Jesus was son and therefore part of God)
Mary is not God and therefore should not be prayed to. It is considered sacriligious.
I am not Christian now, my religious views have changed with time and knowledge; but I still do not believe I would ever pray to Mary.
Those that do, have every right to believe as they believe. This is just my opinion. Blessed be to all. :)

It is Biblical to pary to Mary just as the Angel Gabriel did,"Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you." Luke 1: 28 It may surprise many people who have not read the Bible that the "Hail Mary" prayer of which you speak is taken directly from the first chapeter of the Book of Luke. It is a very Biblically based prayer as the verse noted proves beyond any doubt.

I don't believe it is right. Jesus said " when you pray, pray like this..." (Matt. 6:9-13) and also said "....I have said you are gods? If God called them 'gods' to whom the word of God came-and the scripture cannot be broken- what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own.."( john10:34-36) and "....I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask for in my name....." (john 16:23-24). So my belief is that any who truly believe in the blood and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, GOD hears there prayers and we do not need any other mediators other then Jesus, the only begotten Son of God.
