I've seen many questions about "do you like this", "what kind of that do you drink" and always there are answers "I don't drink"
What's the purpose?

i don't drink but I'm also very down to earth a/b it and don't have a problem w/ answering questions in this category. i really don't see that much of a problem w/ it this is all open domain isn't it? and i don't feel saintly I've just never taken an interest in drinking it just doesn't happen for some people. i apologize if i have offended you in any way w/ my answer.

they only claim not to drink so that people will consider their words not an alcoholic, in other words they think they don't drink but of course they do.

Because sometimes it is just too irresistible not to, especially when you are diverging into categories, subtypes, classifications, etc.etc. about your various wine types. For both of us I think it can be an interesting look into someone else's stratosphere.

Do you think we don't know about alcohol just because we choose not to drink?
Maybe some of us drank a little too much in the past and would like to share some of our insight with those who haven't learned to be cautious when imbibing.
Maybe some of us think all the hoo-hah about wine is snobbery because all wine tastes like bad apple cider or vinegar.
Besides, who are you to tell me I can't answer any question I want?
