I haven't had dental insurance in years.

I have found, I go to the dentist once a year for a cleaning. I make sure to brush my teeth at least twice a day.

I wish I had done this when I was younger. Fortunately, I started taking great care of them later on, and that has saved them for me.

The other thing, when I have had dental work done, and it has been too expensive to pay at one visit, I've arranged with my dentist a payment plan. It works...

Bless you though for knowing you need to go to a dentist - even without insurance.

1. Pick up the phone.
2. Call the dentist.
3. Make a "new patient" appointment.
4. Pay for your services. It will be $200 plus or minus.

The first three answers assume you are looking for cheap care or are in pain, neither one of which you mentioned.

Everyone is scared that a visit to the dentist is going to cost them a thousand dollars or something. More often than not, people are surprised to find that they hardly need anything done. I'd say just expect to pay for the first visit when you go and then, once you know how much you need to have done, see if you can negotiate some kind of payment terms if it is more than you can handle financially.

GO to a dental college. It's considerably cheaper than a dentist and the students are gaining experience.

Find a local community clinic, and call to see if the offer dental work. Some do or can refer you to a low cost dental provider, and some work on a sliding scale based on your income!

go to the emergency room at the public hospital. They have to take you, and if you can't pay, they can write it off.
