Some other questions in the same vein: why arent Christians circusized? why do Christians shave? why don't Christians observe the shabbat?
The answer is that at the Council of Nicea the Christian religion was put into a neat little marketting package so the Romans could more easily accept it and it could become the true religion of the empire.
