They do that so they can control other people with guilt trips. Guilt is a very powerful weapon when it comes to manipulation. They hand over control of their lives into the hands of "god". It's because they are terrified of autonomy and taking responsibility for their own lives. They lose a sense of control in their own lives, so in order to get it back, they want to control others. Condemning others for sinning also puts them in a win-win situation. If they accuse the person of being a dirty sinner and that person does not succumb to the guilt trip, it makes the other person appear to be evil in the eyes of others. If the person does succumb to the guilt trip, then the condemner wins there also. They are obsessed with "earning points" towards heaven. They claim to be "virtuous" for the love of God and because they want to do what is right out of the goodness of their hearts, but it is not that way. They are afraid to live and they hide behind religious convictions to explain away their cowardice. What they fear is that if they don't follow all the rules or at least give off the impression that they themselves are sinless, then everyone whose good opinion they value will abandon them. Also, often when someone points out faults in another person, they are trying to appease their own guilt by spreading it onto others. They are holding themselves to the same standards they are holding you to. So if it's a Catholic girl that's doing the condemning, then she probably recently had premarital sex or at least gave someone a *******. If its a guy, then he probably had premarital sex or masturbated or maybe just had the urge to do any of these things. So they feel extremely guilty themselves and they need to rationalize it or disown it by spreadin it around like a disease. Whatever it is, refuse to accept the guilt. By refusing to accept it, the guilt stays with them and they can go on living in their self imposed moral prison, where everything is a sin. These people do this condemning out of a sense of jealousy and resentment. They see someone who has the courageto enjoy life, really living life to the fullest, not held down by some good-goody moral code like they are and it makes them jealous. They will not admit to their jealousy because then that would make them a "dirty sinner", so they express their jealousy and resentment by lashing out in a socially acceptable way known as self righteous condemnation. I know these people are annoying, and I went to a Catholic high school unwillingly, so I encountered a dense concentration of self righteous condemners myself. They are hypocrites but they are delusional and neurotic also. So just tell them to have fun in their boring lives and try not to think about them too much or you'll have a heart attack. Or to really piss them off, tell them that god hates them. Or tell them that you will pray for them. That really pisses them off.

yes, we are equal in the fact that Jesus died for us all. as far as following rules, God's are the only ones that matter. Not some "religion". His rule book is called The Bible.

sure, we're all equally human in God's eyes, and we're all sinners. Generally Christians want people to follow Christ so they will go to heaven.

Budhists do not think that but it does not mean that they are more tolerant, they burnt to ashes 42 mosques in Myanmar in 1997. See this link for a full report http://www.state.gov/www/global/human_rights/1997_hrp_report/burma.html

It's the same with non-believers, who want others to follow their rules, whether it be abortion so-called "rights," gay so-called "marriage" or whatever.
