Although the French put a lot of different meats on their menus that we wouldn't eat here, most probably if you saw "loup" on the menu, they meant the fish, and not wolf.
That one caught my eye too when I was in the south of France!!

I've seen dog on the menu in Korea & Taiwan, but never in France.

Are you sure you didn't see "Le loup de mer" (sea bass) ?

I guess anything can be prepared as a meal...look at buffalo wings HA HA HA!...I know they're chicken but still!

I've seen snails, frog legs, emu, and snake on menus before!
