I have been put in charge of getting my little cousin she is 5 yrs old a halloween costume and need some ideas she is very girle but not overly so?

I took her to a store and she hated everything she wants me too make her one now because her friends mom designed her? I can sew but need some ideas to throw her way and possibly some books on sewing costumes?

What are some of her favourite characters from books, TV or movies. If they are not too complicated, you could make a costume of one of them. I've no idea what is current with 5 year olds but she will tell you what she likes. If no ideas, try a totally different kind of animal, something imaginary so that you have lots of leeway in design.

My daughter dressed up as a Kittie ( I did also ) for her first year. Second year she was a chicken . It was so cute. This year , she wants to be Tinkerbell.

put her in one of the fruit of the loom costumes.
(just joking) what about a fairy or princess,that to me is the most easy.Also you can go to (buycostumes.com) for some ideas.

Look at her favorite Barbie or Bratz doll. You should be able to make something similiar she could wear.

if she wants to be a diva, then you just have to go full out. whatever her favorite color is, have that be the guide. boas, glitter, sequins, sunglasses, sparkling shoes, anything that will catch her eye. if her favorite color is pink, then make everything pink. good luck!!!
