If you asked a girl out to a dance, that you know likes you cause she stares at you and smiles at you lots, then she said I don't know, I'll have to think about it, then she never tells you an answer and goes to a football game instead, would you be mad, sad, or just ask her to a football game next time?

Sad, but then I would move on. No point in wasting time/interest where it isn't appreciated.

Maybe she doesn't really like you? I would be a bit put off, but I'm a female and can't exactly pinpoint the feeling. I would say give it another try, and yes, ask her to a football game next time. If she does the same thing, forget about her and find someone else who's not acting coy. GOOD LUCK!

I'd probably condider her behavior to be very rude and realize she had no interest in me and not ask her out again. Obviously she wasn't - for whatever reason- able to turn you down to your face about the dance, so she did the old "I'll let you know" trick-- and didn't let you know. That answer actually meant "no." You weren't important enough to her to "let you know".
Staring at someone and smiling at them doesn't really mean a whole lot. Sometimes girls will do that for fun, because they can be a little mean. I think she was probably bored and wanted to wind you up a little.

Sometimes chicks like to play games so they don't seem to easy. Then again, maybe she wanted to but is too ashamed to tell you she can't dance. Either way, ask her to a football game next time. Peace and God bless.

It may be that she doesn't know how to dance, and feels more comfortable in a social setting that isn't geared toward one thing. Try asking her to a game next, and if she says no, maybe you misread her. Could be she was smiling at the guy BEHIND you. Good Luck!

Take her to the football game, then after the game, take her to take something to eat so that both of you can talk and get to know each other better.

Be straight up and tell her "hey perhaps I was wrong by I thought you kind of liked me and I kind of liked you and then invited you to the dance and you never said anything - did I read you wrong?
Football and dances - high school? Perhaps she is not allowed to date and is to embarrassed to tell you?

She might be shy or isn't as interested as you thought. Hard to tell. The only thing you can do is see if she continues to act that way with you. If so try to ask her to go do something that is not as formal/involved.
