"We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate. All are free to believe or not believe, all are free to practice a faith or not, and those who believe are free, and should be free, to speak of and act on their belief. At the same time that our Constitution prohibits state establishment of religion, it protects the free exercise of all religions. And walking this fine line requires government to be strictly neutral."

Pretty cool. That's why I think the debates we as citizens have over the separation of church and state keep us neutral. A lot of people think it's awful that we fight about it so much, but I think that bringing it to the table and letting everyone duke it out till it's resolved keeps us all honest!

Describe the principles of religious liberty found in the Establishment and Free Exercise clauses of the First Amendment, including the debate on the issue of separation of church and state.

Very cool but not always followed. There are still numerous cases involving the separation of church and state, or lack there of. The government needs to keep that quote in mind more often.
