i have an old ford truck that i want to fix up, could i go to a ford dealership and buy a crate engine, and take it home to put it in myself or do i have to take the truck to them, and let them put it in?

You can buy the engine and install it yourself, or have someone other than the dealer install it for you!

If you let Ford do it, will cost more but will help in any warrantty issues. But I'd figure an engines is just an expensive part that they sell. May want to try NAPA too because they sell rebuilt.

I would think because you don't know the answer to that question you should have a professional put the engine in.

you are asking this question and want to install a motor?????? you would probably lose your warranty if you install sears used to sell motors but if not installed my mechanic no warranty knew one guy who was a heavy duty mechanic installed one in his car and they would not warranty it when the bottom end went after 6 months let the pros do it
