To all the guys out there that ask questions about being a gentleman, and why women don't recipricate to your gentlemanly conduct. The moment you do something for a woman such as buy her flowers, open doors, etc.....and anticipate a reward for such action (either her to like you, or become your gf, or expect a big kiss, or sex.) you cease being a gentleman.
Women have a sixth sense when it comes to such things and they can smell the "where's my reward" thing from miles away.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, so you're saying that women respond more to men who do things for them non-stop, for nothing, and constantly show through actions, words and posts how gallant and gentlemanly they are, sort of like a circus monkey act? I usually do things nice for women so they give ME money, gifts, meals, etc. heh heh <<

You're right--this is not a question; however, since you offered your opinion, I will offer mine.

It's true. Women who feel insecure or unsure about the man they're dating will wonder if the man expects "something" after he gives a gift. A man can undo this effect in a woman he cares for by not following up gifts with requests of any kind. Just give her something from your heart and maybe her respect and admiration can be a reward in itself.

I have always given gifts to women and i tell them up front that i am not expecting nothing in return so she want be thinking anything and it is always from the heart even if she don't call or i don't see her again everything is cool with me. That's her decision if she wants to give me a kiss or a hug.

Amen, brother. I love getting flowers and chocolate from my boyfriend and I do show him appreciation for it. He doesn't expect anything in return. That rocks.

Ladies out there, make sure you say thank you for these gifts you are given, even if your "sixth sense" is kicking in.

Good point. Virtue is its own reward. If you are being a gentleman for another reason, you're no gentleman.

You're right. Most women have pretty good radar when it comes to "phony" or "manipulative" behaviour; if it's not the real thing, we don't like it and we don't want it - and no one, male or female, likes to be patronized or manipulated.

I agree. But I do enjoy when a girl calls me chivalrous.
