I rescued a kitten. He's about 4-5 weeks old, tiny, cute, follows me around everywhere, and meows when I am not holding him. He seems healthy but I just rescued him last night about at about 5pm. I'v bought him Iams soft canned kitten food and also some mothers replacement milk and he still hasn't went poop. He has peed abunch in the litter box but nothing from the other. What should I do? His belly is very round and rather hard. Thanks

The mother cat normally licks a kitten's "rear end" to encourage bowel movements. You can simulate that by gently rubbing his rear with a warm, wet dish cloth. Other than that, I think you're doing a great job, especially thinking of using the replacement milk (most people think regular milk is ok, and it isn't).

My daughter rescued a three week old kitten and I remember we had to massage the area where he poops to make him go because that is what the mother cat does. Now the cat is healthy and he is about 4 months old now. What I would suggest is looking up kittens on the internet to find out how to care for them thats what we did. Good luck kittens are a lot of fun.

Get a warm cloth and wipe it on his butt....this will stimulate him going, bc his mother can't clean him like she normally would. And baby that small in most animals you will have to stimulate going potty...just kep it wamr and softly rub and it will happen
And if it's worms you can get a small dewormer pill at any vets office. Alot of times you can just call the vet...but if he had worms they also would be coming out of his butt like small grains of white rice.....but the pill would be the only way to fix worms....Good Luck

It sound like he may have worms. Take him to the vet right away. It shouldn't cost much to have the kitten dewormed. But later you must take him for all the rest of his vaccinations, etc.

i think u should take him to a vet just to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong with the cute thing! and while u r there, get him some papers so u can be assured that he is yours and a check up should do. i hope he is alright!

Give him a little time to adjust. You should be concerned if he hasn't gone for 2-3 days. You can always give a little bit of canned pumpkin if he is constipated. If he is active and eating, drinking playing you shouldn't be concerned yet.

the cat's belly is full of parasitic worms, thats why his belly is hard and round and why he pees so much. they eat all the solids. take him to a vet to get him dewormed
