I have stayed there alot, i just want a hotel that is not just for sleeping in.

Here is probably the best hotel in the Khao San Road area (Banglampoo), and only one street away too - the Viengtai http://www.viengtai.co.th/
But if you've stayed in BKK many times, why would you want to be anywhere near KSR? It's has nothing to show of BKK as it's just full of low budget travellers who island hop and spend their time with other foreign travellers.
Why not try some of the other areas of BKK and open your mind to some of the fantastic experiences that Thailand has to offer.

There are many nice reasonably priced hotels in the vicinity of Khao San Road.There are so many hotels it's best to have a look yourself. Average price for a double room with colour TV etc is about £14.00 per night but you can get much cheaper ones.
