think they have a right to interfer in their parents relationships? It seems that on here alot of them are asking if they sould tell mom this or dad that. Parents are not dumb, and usually know what is going on. My opinion is that kids have too much opinion these days.

Kid's have too much of an opinion? no offence intended, but would you rather them be mindless drones? Some may have a bad attitude towards things, but I don't think they're considering the fact of asking these things being "oh lets screw up relationships today!" There's nothing wrong with asking, and people, not just kids, will learn from mistakes. Yes parents usually know what's going on, but does that make it easier to tell them right away? sometimes no, and it would make it a lot harder on themselves in ways. I'm sure you've had times when you haven't wanted to tell someone something, or asked advice on a personal level. Alot of times, it's easier to tell someone your own age, or someone you don't even know about it, not really to get an answer, but to just get it off your chest. Again, no offence intended, just my opinion :)

It depends on the situation .. if they are just being bratty and asking for things they want .. then , yes, that is happening more so today. Some kids are spoiled. But if you mean that more kids today are discussing different things with their parents that used to be considered taboo 10 or 20 years ago . .. then I think it is just fine .. what is wrong with wanting to discuss or give your parents your opinion on something ? The kids are part of the family and have insights that the parents don't have sometimes. Good Luck ! :)

Not really. If a child sees a potential problem, like abuse, then of course they have the right to speak up.

And I also agree with the other poster, that parents relationships directly affect the children. The children should have some sort of say in what they see and feel.

I think we are too quick to blame.
Parents need to take control of their lives and not let their kids find out about things that they aren't ready to talk to them about. If I'm having an issue with my husband, my kids have no idea!
I think a lot of the problems is who the parents are.

good point. i ts also pretty noticeable how parents have no authority over there kids. my mom says when me and my bros and sis's were little we never behaved like those litle shits on SuperNanny. i am embarassed to be in public when i see a kid just screaming to get what they want and the parent does nothing about it. what you hvae to do it set up ground rules and dont put up with anything.

I agree and its not just you. It is also not just the parents advocating this behavior anymore. I was recently at a highschool and observed how the students were treated better than the adults.

YOU KNOW parents allow this. LOOK KIDS EITHER live in their parents house. OR the parents live in their kids house. THATS what it boils down to here.

Well uh, they have every right to have opinions, and to have questions regarding their parents. Their parents' lives affect them, why shouldn't they want to know things?
