My older brother pisses me off a lot sometimes....I just turned 20 and my older brother will be 27 next week. Sometimes I feel like my older brother is more controling of me than my parents. He still treats me like some kind of little kid!!! And he is even more stricter on my 15 year old sister. I understand that when he were younger he had to look after us because our dad is a surgeon and mom a doctor so they werent home a lot....but now my sister and I are at a age where we really dont need our brothers protection anymore....how can we tell him to just back off?

well i would talk to him and i would tell him that i wasnt a little kid anymore that i was old enough to do what i wanted when i wanted if he doesnt understand talk to your perants so they can talk to him!!

If he loves you he will not back off. Older brothers are very protective of us weather we like it or not. He knows how guys really are and wants to protect you. He has been through more than you have and doesn't want you to make the same mistakes. I wish I still had my older brother around. He was murdered when I was 18 and I resented him too. Now that I am older and a bit wiser I see that he was only tried to protect me. I wish that I had taken the time to thank him. You still have time for that why not listen to what he says and thank him for his advice, it does not mean you have to do what he says.

I don't know but he sounds like he loves you. I don't know if you could change his mind though. He feels you have to respect him and obey him because you're parents made him feel he was responsible for you. He doesn't want anything bad to happen to you,he doesn't want you to make a mistake in your life. Tell him not to treat you like a kid,that you are an adult and that you already know what's good and bad and if you don't you'll ask his advice.

If you are afraid to discuss this openly with your brother .. to just tell him to "back off" .. then I would plan a family meeting ..where everyone is there .. including your parents.. Discuss what is happening and see what result you get from that first. Good Luck ! :)
