To help me get a nice house i could afford to raise my family-He did. I asked God to help me find a Good job so that i could support my family-He did. When my wife was pregnant i asked God to give me a healthy and good hearted child-He did. I asked God to keep us all healthy and free from physical injury-So far so good. I asked God to help me win the Lotto so that i could give my family a better life style- so far no dice. I know that i am blessed, i can see that. My question is am i asking too much with the lotto? After everything he has given me am i stepping over the line? Should i just be happy with what i have? It does say ask and you shall recieve. Believers please answer as i already know the athiest view.

Thank you all for reaffirming what i believed to be true(Even the negative responses are productive). God is giving me what i need at the moment and yes i thank him every day. I wish you all peace and may God bless you. I know this God will only give me(and You) what you need so look closely at your life and you will find that he has blessed you all. Thank you God bless you.

Someone said God is NOT your servant. That was actually a GOOD response, and I agree.

I'd also like to add this:

You asked God for a job to support your family, and you were blessed with one. Then you asked to help you win the lotto so that you could give your family a better lifestyle? What is that saying about what He blessed you with? Doesn't it sound a little unappreciative when put in that perspective? It did to me.

Not only that, but God provided you with the job to provide for your family, and you took (or want to take) a portion of that to pay for chance tickets. Hmm...what do you think He thinks of that?

I think the better question is this: WHY do you want to win the lotto? What is in your heart that provoked that desire?

I don't know, I'm a "peculiar" type of Christian...I don't care about earthly riches, as I think it can reversely effect one's meekness and humility. I'm far more focused on heavenly riches (knowledge and wisdom concerning eternal things) than I am earthly one's....but...hey, that's just ME.

Hey, you've gotten a lot from the Father, but:

Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Enjoy His joy today!

LUCKY U, I have already asked God the same question and I have gotten a negative response. Since God has told me flat out that I will not win any money, I have just continued on with my work, hoping I will get some overtime so I can have more money. I have to do it the hard-working way I reckon. God has blessed you with a lot, so I would not push the lotto thing.

God Cannot help you win the Lotto because playing the Lotto is sin, meaning that it is an activity OUT of the Will of God.

All gambling activities are sin (meaning out of the will of God)

maybe god may have blessed you of the lotto wished for already
but you're simply blinded

what is wealth actually is to you?
would you prefer to be blessed with all the luxuries in life but only to fall ill and sick, paralysed, crippled on a wheel chair or bedridden for your entire life having no children at all to inherit or care for you?

after lotto granted, your family torn apart only to realised the ignorance of true wealth you should treasured is your family/loved ones

think about it=WHAT DO YOU MEANT BY WEALTH?

That's nice that you received all the good things....maybe you will hit the Lotto..I hope that you do...I have asked for what you asked for and you received...I have never gotten anything....I have even asked like you..if I could win something on the Lotto...but like you nothing...I'm beginning to question..if there is a God...

I asked Satan to give you a nice house and a good job, and to give you a healthy child and to keep your family healthy.

Then I asked him to make sure that you don't win Lotto, because I knew that would spoil every one of you.

Let me know if his Satanic Majesty reneges on that part.

Gambling is a form of greed and the love of money beyond everyday needs.
God is not unrightous so would not answer a prayer to be blessed with greed

Are you a Christian? If so, do you know how Christ taught us to pray? In essence: "May God's will be done."

God, in my understanding, does not give out little material treats on account of our asking for them. You are asking that God interfere in a random-chance, state-sponsored gambling game so that you may get some money, correct? God normally doesn't intervene in random-chance, state-sponsored gambling games, because he does not approve of them...and so it follows that he is not interested in fulfilling your transient whims by making it so you would be the winner.

Have you prayed lately for God's will? If you continue praying that your selfish ends be met, you may invite God's enemy into your life. Also, from what I understand, God does not enjoy being approached in pride, and as if he is a vending machine dispensing worthless favors.

God is NOT your servant. He gave you what HE thought you needed. Regardless of if you asked for it or not, because according to Jesus "God already knows what you need when it comes to clothing and housing and food, so do not worry....(in my own words)" Stop telling God what to do. He helps people when they are in need, by his OWN will and Own mercy. He's not here to fullfill YOUR will but HIS will. REad the Bible again. He wants you to worry about fullfilling HIs will, not YOUR will. ANd stop worrying and begging God for things that He already plans to give you. Spend more time thanking Him and Praising Him as HE deserves. WHat have you done for God's will, or is that something you werent thinking about in all your prayers?

You can ask god to win the lottery because everything else you have, you have earned. He never gave it to you. There are alot of Christians out there with less than you because they are lazy. You are a hard worker and YOU earned it. Like everything else in life you work hard for it or you don't get it. Lottery is just how lucky you are.
