During dinner, tell them that you're begining to have strong feelings for other girls at school...

After they've dropped the fork to their plate and as they're staring at you with surprise...

Say, "I'm just kidding!!! I like boys, in fact, I'd like to have boyfriend! Dad, pass the potatoes...."

You're 16, and I know it seems like everyone else has a boyfriend. I got my first boyfriend when I was 18, and I thought I was all mature and ready for dating, but looking back, it wasn't worth it. I've discovered as I've gotten older (26 now), that it's best not to date anyone unless you're both in a place that you could and would want to marry the person. Your parents are just watching out for you and want the best for you. Even though it kinda sucks now, hang in there. Respect them, and in the long run, you'll be much happier.

as a teenager myself, i think the best way is to just explain to your parents. Don't whine, or yell....and dont keep it a secret. They will find out - parents always do...and then you'll NEVER be allowed to date. If you have always fallowed their rules and never gotton in serious trouble, talk to them about it. They should be able to trust you. Sit down with them, when they're in a good mood, and tell them how important this is to you and that they can trust you. Most likely you will be able to work something out. Good luck, and i hope it works out for you.

When a guy asks for your phone number, give it to him.
He will call, tell your parents he is a friend from school, science class. You are discussing a project. They will get used to his calls and maybe gradually to your seeing him.
Maybe start by actually inviting him over for a homework assignment.....
Look, you are starting college in a year or two..........THEY NEED TO GROW UP!!!!!.

chances are they still see you as their little girl and want to protect you. Talk to them and tell them that you are a responsible girl becoming a woman and you want to start dating, don't say boyfriend yet, just tell them you want to date and then as they get used to that and if you find someone specail then tell them about the boyfriend

second, don't make a big deal of it

show them that you are mature enough to have one - take your housework more seriously, great grades, and go out with sb at the same time, then let them know it. u r a super girl, i'm sure you are, and you can do all this. good luck.

Explain to them your need to get out there socially. Tell them they can be involved in your dating decisions to make them feel better. (Have final say in whom you date, curfews, etc.)

At 16 you shouldn't really be dating seriously. Teenage guys are morons.

Talk to them about it. It shows them that your more mature than if you went out and snuck around. Oh and bring it up when their in a good mood lol.
