I'm 54. I went in at 17. I was headed for Nam, in early 70. So it is possible.

heell, it was even plausible that he snuck in at 16 for that matter. wasn'tr quite as easy to do that as it was during WW1 or 2, but it has happened.
My father enlisted at 17 during the Viet Nam era.
