Islam holds the human soul in high esteem, and considers an attack against innocent human beings a grave sin
"...if anyone slew a person unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people." Qur'an 5: 32
"...take not life which Allah has made sacred except by way of justice and law: thus does He command you..." Qur'an 6: 151
"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that you may know each other (not that you may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you..." Qur'an 49: 13
"But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them against such there is no cause of blame. The blame is only against those who oppress men with wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land defying right and justice: for such there will be a Penalty grievous." Qur'an 42: 41-42

Hey,
It does not say anywhere in the quran to kill non-belivers, the quran states murder and suicide as the 2 unforgiveable sins, it says god is the most mercifull and all forgiving if u are truly sorry from the bottom of ur heart, however taking ur own life or the life of another is unforgiveable because this is gods decesion alone to make! Thoes terroists are murders in all senses islam condems what they are doing, and so do I, it is sad that there are muslims like that in the world but the evil ones are those particular "muslims" not islam and not all muslims in general.
Also killing one person is said to be like killing all of mankind in islam.
Hope u find the answer to ur question
Peace!

as you can read in PURPLE-RA... there is this verse on the Holy Qur'an, killing someone is a very grave sin.
Islam is a peacefully religion even if some of his folders are not, remember this.
i think your question is very important, you have to ask to be sure before thinking something wrong. Don't let people confuse you and always look for the right way and answers, as you see whoever told you that is wrong, very wrong indeed. God bless you

Oh My God, really don't know from where to start answering. Better to ask a question. From where you get those information???? Another question. How many questions you have seen on here against Christianity asked by Muslims? Why do not Christians be more respectful to ohers beliefs. That is how I feel at the moment.
There should be more people like you and try to find the truth.

Ok, here I give some translations of some Qur'anic verses. Read them and judge your assumption:
1. (16:82) But if they turn away from you, (O Prophet remember that) your only duty is a clear delivery of the Message (entrusted to you).
2. (6:107) Yet if God had so willed, they would not have ascribed Divinity to aught besides him; hence, We have not made you their keeper, nor are you (of your own choice) a guardian over them.
3. (17:53, 54) And tell my servants that they should speak in a most kindly manner (unto those who do not share their beliefs). Verily, Satan is always ready to stir up discord between men; for verily; Satan is mans foe .... Hence, We have not sent you (Unto men O Prophet) with power to determine their Faith.
4. (88:21) And so, (O Prophet!) exhort them your task is only to exhort; you cannot compel them to believe.
5. (109:6) Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.
6. "..and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.”
7. (2:256) "There is no compulsion in Islam"
==================================================
Some Hadith sayings:
1. "He who believes in God and the Last Day should honour his guest, should not harm his neighbour, should speak good or keep quiet." (Bukhari, Muslim)
2. "He who hurts a Non-Muslim citizen of a Muslim state, I am his adversary, and I shall be his adversary on the Day of a Judgement." (Bukhari)
3. "Anyone who kills a Non-Muslim who had become our ally will not smell the fragrance of Paradise." (Bukhari)
4. Killing (a human) is Kufri (serious major sin).
Now brother, you decide. Yes, some wicked people are very shrewd to bring up some verses from Qur'an which talk about killing. That's the mistake. Most of those verses were revealed because of the consistent treachery of some the-then non-believers, who always tried to kill our prophet, wipe out Islam only for political and self-interest reasons. They drove out our prophet from his homeland, and they killed people who turned to Islam. And they were killed in 'war', meaning they were in war with Muslims. So they were also striving to kill Muslims.

You should answer this as a Christian, since Christians have killed more people. The first world war, the second world war. The Vietnam war, the Korean war. Killing of the Indians in America. Forced conversion of all the South American. There have been more Jews killed by the Christians than by the muslim. Muslims have their share of killings but I think Christians take the Trophy.

No, Quran does not tell us to kill non-Muslims. Please read the following verses from the Quran itself.
"... If someone kills another person—unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing corruption in the earth—it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life to all mankind. Our Messengers came to them with Clear Signs, but even after that, many of them committed outrages in the earth." (Qur’an, 5:32)

why dont you read the quran and you'll know first hand instead of getting wrong answers from the haters outthere.
to answer to your question. no killing is still killing and one of the greatest sins.
but we are commanded to defend our selves incase of invasion or occupation this is what Jihad is, is to fight those who fight you until they are out of your land.
you fight back to defend your family yourself and your land. this is the only kind of killing that's justified, killing in a battle of self defense.
